Wayzata ( ) is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota. It is in the western part of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area. The name Wayzata is derived from a Lakota Sioux phrase meaning "North Shore". Located on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, the city is a popular tourist destination. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,688.〔 Wayzata has a growing economy and Wayzata High School has been ranked by ''Newsweek'' on its list of the 1000 top public high schools in America. ==History==
